The Cub Scout Bear program is for both boys and girls in 3rd grade or age 9. The scout and adult partner do every part of the program together under the facilitation of a Bear Guide. The Bear den typically will meet once a week on Mondays to do things separately from the rest of the pack and once a month for Pack Meetings.
The Bear rank is earned by completing six adventures as described below. Although participation with an adult partner is required for all Wolf awards, recognition items are for the Scouts only.
1. Complete each of the following Bear required adventures with your den or
family:
· Baloo the Builder
· Bear Claws
· Bear Necessities
· Fellowship and Duty to God
· Fur, Feathers, and Ferns
· Paws for Action
2. Complete one Bear elective adventure of your den or family’s choosing.
3. With your parent or adult partner, complete the exercises in the pamphlet
How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide, and earn the Cyber
Chip award for your age.
